My heart says Randy but my guy say Tim. I hate watching Tim Sylvia fight, he is a defensive fighter, he wears opponents down by making them expell all of there energy and takes his shots in the later rounds. I think they need to crack down on his stalling. And there is no way that randy is in the shape to go 5 rounds with sylvia. He was winded after 2 rounds with chuck lidell. But I do think he has superior wrestling skills and if he can manage to take sylvia down and wear on him early he stands a punchers chance. But that's a big IF.

I agree with both of these guys, but for different reasons. Tim the Maine-iac is the worst champion in the UFC. He is in the weight class with the shallowest talent pool and puts on the least exciting fights. I want Randy Couture to come back and win, but he won't. Sylvia is basically a bigger version of Chuck Liddell. Heavy hands and hard to take down. He is susceptible to submissions, as Frank Mir and Arlovski have shown, so I hope Couture is perfecting his leg locks and arm bars. Sylvia is a product of a weak division in the UFC and I think Couture is coming back to show that. However, the UFC just got a huge boost by signing the #2 heavyweight in the world, Mirko CroCop. Whoever wins between Couture and Sylvia will be destroyed by CroCop, who is more talented and far more exciting than the current champ. Hopefully Brandon Vera (who also could beat Sylvia) will re-sign with the UFC and make the heavyweight division more explosive.
Oh, Sylvia KO's Couture in Round 2. And Maine sucks!

I don't think Randy has a chance. Remember when he fought Barnett? He had Barnett in some submissions but Barnett was too strong. Same thing will happen with Sylvia, Randy might be able to have some ground work but it won't be good enough to finish Sylvia. Also because Randy is smaller and older he won't be able to out work Sylvia either. Sylvia will eventually land some head shots and KO Randy. Stupid fight for Randy to take unless he is just going for the payday.

I think Randy will find Silvia's weak link by getting in close and taking him down to the mat. Only problem is that if he wins, you can bet that Dana will line up a rematch. This will "postpone" the chance for CroCop to take over as the new king of the UFC heavyweights. In fact, if Randy wins both of those I wouldn't put it past Dana to give Andrei Orlovski a shot before he gives it to CroCop. I just can't help but think that, even though CroCop is signed with UFC, that Dana will want to see an ex "Pride" fighter easily clean up against UFC fighters.

I love Randy Couture. He's one of the very best in the business but father time has come...............
Tim Sylvia may not be as skilled as him but he'll beat him badly. Wouldn't want to see that.

absolutely not. 1st I thought Randy Couture was retired. 2nd I did not realize he was a heavyweight. Tim Sylvia will tear him up.

I think favor resides with tim sylvia, mainly because randy is pretty old, he is coming from 2 loses to liddell, he has had trouble with bigger opponents before, his takedowns will be very hard to accomplish with such a big guy like sylvia, as shown by monsoon vs sylvia

i think Couture will win.. yea he may have been retired but sylvia got lucky last time against arlovski. Couture is the only person to hold both heavy and light heavyweight title. he just wants to go back to heavywieght.

yes cause dana needs a bigger name hvwght than tim to fight CroCop.
when he gets his shot for the title he needs to sell tickets and sylvia doesnt get respect like Coture.
