If you really want them to work, they will! You just have to put effort into it!

Not always. I think they are tough. I'm in a long distance relationship now (New York - Tokyo) and it has been tough. My boyfriend wants to break up partly because of the stress of the long distance. I think that if I hadn't moved to New York, we might still continue to be together, though I can't ever know. I think they can work, but there are no formulas. Each person is different, and sometimes e-mailing or calling too much is not good for the relationship, despite what people suggest for long distance relationships.

It can work but like others have said you both have to really want to be in the relationship and mature. Ive been dating my now fiance for almost two years he lives in Australia I live in CA. Its been hard a lot of times, but we realize in the end it is all worth it. You need to be prepared in answering a lot of questions, ex: where will you end up living once and if you get married? Long distance relationships aren't for everyone but if you really like each other then go for it, just keep in mind it will never be a normal relationship like one u can have with someone living in the same city. Be open to talking about anything and everything that is the only way you will get to know each other.

Yes, but you really have to be committed to comunicating with the other person. My wife and I dated long distance for over 4 years, and the only way it worked, was by talking almost every night on the phone. Both people have to want to be in the relationship, and communoicate that for it to work.

It depends on the people. I've been in one for over four years now and never had a second thought. We're getting married and finally ending the 'distance' part, so I'd say it has worked.

Yes, long distance relations work. All you have yo do is stay in touch. You can call each other. Send emails to each other. You can send aims too each other. Chat with each other on yahoo or any other site. Send mail, visit each other on holidays. As long as you talk and still have feeling for each other. Anything can work! Enjoy....Hope this helps.

Mine isn't right now....I thought it would and being apart gives you something to talk about cause you don't know everything that happens minute by minute. Until they get mad and give you the silent treatment for a few days! LOL
