A Vidallia or Mahi Sweet are pretty good, even if that isn't to your liking then go with Scallots, a bit lighter in flavor though

No whole onion is totally worry-free. All onions will have an odor when cooking...and all will have the same chemical reaction when cutting, but that can be somewhat reduced by the temperature of the onion itself.
If you're not an onion connoisseur, you might want to keep a bag of chopped onions in your freezer -- you can buy a bag at your local grocery store. Just open, measure and voila! No cutting, no smell, no mess!
Have fun!

Bermuda or Vadalia r mild onions. Whats wrong with the odor of cooking onions, it`s very appetizing to most people, especially frying onions. If u`ve ever watched the Food Network on TV, most all chefs use onions in one way or another. Keep onions in fridge, cold onions will not cause tears.

In general, white onions are the mildest. Whether an onion is a spring/summer or fall/winter onion also affects mildness and sweetness. Spring/summer fresh onions are available in yellow, red and white throughout their season, March through August are milder than fall/winter storage onions.

I like yellow onions. If you put them in the refrigerator for a little while before you cut them it cuts down on the crying.

All onions will be potent if kept at room temperature. If you store them in the fridge, they will be milder, if you freeze them, you will never cry again !!
