Having just watched the premier of this show - I absolutely love the comedic wit of Simon of American Idol! How about you?

Gee ta2dpilot, after a day of brain wrenching negotiations, while on my treadmill & reading The Art of War - I chose to have a frivolous night with my little one and watch the show. (which I will now watch again)
Don't judge too quickly my friend. I'd counter with you getting off the computer - it could be a form of brainwashing as well. ;-)

he really is funny, and the thing is, he's usually right. He's been in the business just like Randy and Paula, but they're willing to spare people's feelings. However, Simon knows how cutthroat it is and doesn't feel the need to string people along about their talent (or lack thereof). I like him and think he has kind of a bad rap. Yeah he is funny, and he's really quick witted. It doesn't take him long to come up with good lines.

Without the loony acts and Simon the auditions would not be worth watching. The producers have to pick a few hundred out the the thousands that show up and they always pick a mix of good and bad singers. If you are just average you will never get to the panel.
Sometimes I feel as though I would like to say you sing good but are fat and ugly and will never make it.
Don't forget that the auditions were months ago and the show has been edited to show the best. How many insults were so bad they could not be put on?

i feel all three are a joke . see tv today ?on news for american idol at least simon said you look like a bush baby . abdul and jackson ,after simon was blunt , guy had absolutely no talent and when the dude jackson and abdul laughed there booty off. go to the american idol on web i really dont know if it is on it .but see. hes not funny simon hes as loaded as the other two judges

He's brutally honest much like myself. I find I get in alot of trouble for my honesty and sarcasm. I'll tell you one thing, It's a lot easier to look in the mirror when you're true to yourself. I hope Simon's honest for honesty's sake and not just to be mean. Either way he's funny.

I think he is too harsh. Yeah he tells the truth but why be so harsh. You probably wouldn't like him either if he made fun of you in a really rude way.

I think it's great. People get on television and make complete fools out of themselves and Simon comes right out and tells them. Perhaps it will save the person from future heartbreak and disappointment later on down the road. LOL!!

Simon is funny to me he expresses his opinion very VERY differently than most poeple though but its not just you!
