So far Immigration has raided meat packing and chicken processing plants and the owners are having a hard time filling the positions. Which mean steak and chicken will be hard to get and the price will go up. And that is only the beginning. Soon hotels, restarants and housing will cost more also as these industries begin to lose their illegal workers. And if you are one of the people who want the illegals to be sent out you really have no room to complain about the high prices you soon will be paying and will have forced the rest of us to pay as well..

So you would rather pay higher prices but you will not have the money to pay the higher prices because even thought companies are making record profits they are not passing to their works legal or otherwise.

The report I heard yesterday morning was that sure they hire people but then those people quit and they are back in the hole again.

If the greedy owners would stop lining their silky pockets with the money they saved by hiring illegals and would fork out a decent wage to Americans they wouldn't need to raise prices. Even if they did raise them a small amount it would be worth it. We would save BILLIONS ANNUALLY by deporting them.

If they don't want to pay a decent wage and get the jobs done, they need to go out of business. There will be someone else out there that will buy the business and pay a good, loyal, decent, honest, hard-working American citizen to do the job~at a livable wage.

Sorry.....they are filling the positions. If people quit...trust me....it's for a reason. I don't care how much they feel they need to raise the prices.......you just don't seem to grasp that we don't want to see ANYBODY being used or abused to save a buck. If these guys get so all high and mighty....they only make money for what they sell. if I don't buy or can't afford it......it's going to rot or remain empty. They didn't decrease our prices with all this cheap labor and they will find a way to raise our prices if they can get away with it. I don't eat steak now because I can't afford it. I don't eat chicken from companies that hire illegals. Hey....I will not support this. .....period.....and trust me....they are making it harder and harder to fight and afford basic needs. Making illegals citizens isn't the answer.....you think this is the first time we've faced something like this? Wake up. You think that an influx of illegals is going to fix this? If these guys didn't get the breaks they couldn't survive here any better than they did in Mexico.

Would I prefer to have money taken from my paycheck and handed over to illegals, endure a higher crime rate, a worse education for my kids, have to pay more for my own medical/dental to supplement the illegals who don't pay, etc.

OR pay more for a steak.

This is a tough one

(Jeopardy music plays in the background)

I'll take "Pay more for a steak, Alex".

Besides, I'm a vegetarian.

Oh and that little myth you're trying to sell - how everything will be so expensive we'll all be homeless people that won't be able to afford food...

Here's the deal...it's not that everything will cost more, it's that the profits of those companies will get smaller. In a free market economy, there is always competition and that keeps the prices reasonable. Business 101, kiddo.

As for your original question - "Am I happy now?" I'm gettin' there...

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kit is right on the mark. Never heard it said better and he/she is right on the cultural issues.

Prices were cheaper when American did the work. Because they weren't subsides. It is a fact every service cost more now then it did 10 yrs ago.
CEO's were making 200 times more then the average worker Today they make 600 times more. 20yrs ago it was 100 time more. Cheap labor does not exist.
Tell a lie long enough stupid people believe it.

What part of fantasy land do you live in. Or is it just cultural thing that illegal is okay? huh
Your irrational statement doesn't wash.
Even if they worked for food stamps the cost you would be paying for products or service would not change. Just the profit margin the companies. That has never changed!

THERE IS NO RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN WAGES AND WHAT YOU PAY FOR A PRODUCT OR SERVICE THAT IS DONE BY AN ILLEGAL.
ALSO, MOST AMERICAN AND YOU ARE NOT AWARE IS 40% OF ALL PRODUCE AND GOOD DONE BY ILLEGALS ARE SHIPPED OUT OF THE COUNTRY AND DO NOT BENEFIT USA CITIZENS. THEY BENEFIT ONLY BUSINESSES, PERIOD.

FINALLY ALL AMERICAN THAT PAYS TAXES KNOW THAT ALL ILLEGALS ARE SUBSIDED LABOR BY THE TAX PAYER.
IN THE COSTS TO: EDUCATION, HEALTH CARE, IMPRISONMENT OF THE ILLEGAL CRIMINAL AND
WELFARE.
POOR PEOPLE DO NOT PAY TAXES INCLUDING ILLEGALS. ILLEGALS JUST ADD TO THE NUMBER OF POOR THAT ARE A DRAIN ON OUR SOCIETY TODAY AND THE FUTURE OF THIS COUNTRY NEXT GENERATION.

CHEAP LABOR AGAIN I ASK WHAT FANTASY LAND DO YOU LIVE IN OR JUST CULTURAL THAT YOU THINK THIS WAY??? SAD!

You have the facts all wrong. The Swift plant filled all the jobs within a week, with the wages that they had already started to increase. The prices won't go up as all the extras were going to the employers.

Of course I am happy. This country will save billions in taxes when illegals are evicted or sealed off from this country.

Mexicans are not doing us a favor, the jobs that they have now or are being evicted from used to pay decent wages to Americans. They are slaves, and they are driving down the wages on jobs that were filled by Americans, they are not taxpayers, they are sending their money back to Mexico, and they are draining our tax resources.

Hopefully those comapanies who have been benefitting from cheap Mexican slave labor will either go out of business, or raise their wages to the levels that they were before they broke the law.

I'll be happier when they raid the factories in my town. Our citizens have been forced to move or drive long distances to jobs for long enough. We did just fine without illegals before and we will do so again. Citizens would come back and bring their families if they had a chance at these jobs. Some of these factories are being sued by citizens because of their illegal practices, and it's about time! BTW--it costs much more to live here now and wages are lower than they were before the invasion.

I'm not worried- the lower government costs of welfare programs, incarceration and education for the illegals will go down, so other infrastructure can benefit. This will make our overall standard of living go up without a commensurate increase in taxes. Basically we pay a bit more for chicken, but have more money from our paycheck to spend on that chicken...

NO!

But I will be happy when we no longer have an illegal immigrant problem, and the first step is to build the wall and penalize companies for hiring illegals. NO AMNESTY EITHER! Go through the legal channels, or stay home.

If there's no benefit, companies will begin to turn away from hiring illegal immigrants.

Legal immigrants and especially those from south of our border should be appalled and angry about illegals coming here. Illegals drive down wages, and are bankrupting hospitals, and will continue to drain the system.
