It's probably because with all that hair, the dog gets too hot when it's in the bed.
Cuddle with it on the couch and let the dog sleep in it's own bed at night.

Since he's a little dog, you can try putting him on the bed, or putting his doggie bag onto the bed.
But you should be aware that some dogs just aren't the cuddle type. I have a big lab-mix, and from day 1, ever since he was a little puppy, he just didn't want to cuddle. He'll love sitting next to me, and he'll be glued to my chair, but he just doesn't want to cuddle. And it's been like that from day 1.
But, my rotti and sheltie -LOVE- cuddling more than they like food.
I haven't really done anything different when I was raising all three of them - I don't treat them differently or anything. It's just personality I suppose.

You can put is bed up on yours. Or teach him that if he's up on your bed that he'll get attention. Try it first a couple times during the day. My miniature poodle loves to sleep in my bed. Everytime I get into bed he gets so excited and he comes to cuddle for a little bit. Then when I'm done petting him he moves to my feet. I didn't train him to do this, he just does it.

why would you want to? it is dirty, unless you wash him everyday.
he is a pom, so he would probably get quite warm on the bed. Plus, he might feel unconfident about jumping up and down. Jumping down off a high bed may also cause hip and leg problems.
if after all this, you still wish to get him to sleep on your bed, pick him up and put him on the bed before you go to sleep and play with him for a while. do this every day and he will get used to it and eventually love being in your bed.

DO NOT ENCOURAGE YOUR DOG TO SLEEP IN THE BED WITH YOU. . Firstly he will shed on the sheets and you will have to wash them. Secondly of all the blankets will smell bad if you don't wash them often (I have experienced all this). I strongly reccomend he sleeps in his own bed on the floor but not on your bed. And lastly this can be a bad habit when company is at your house.

what we did and we didnt want to have our dog always sleep with us it gets uncomfy after a while is when she was a puppy she would cry at night and instead of ignoreing her. we would pikc her up and put her in our bed, i wasnt our intention to get her used to sleeping in the bed with us.. now we regret it but she isnt a huge dog so its not a biggie. we are just glad the dobie sleeps on her own bed.

dogs are creatures of habit, meaining, the love schedules, and routines. they usually eat at the same place, eliminate at the same place, sleep, etc.
is he fully potty trained?
if he isnt, i wouldnt let him on your bed.
what kind of puppy is it? some puppies are more independent then others!
other than that...try cuddling with your puppy when you guys are watching tv and such... just some mommy and me time... pretty soon...you wont be able to stretch out on your own bed! be careful with what you wish for!
good luck!

Pick him up and put him on your bed, then give him lots of treats and praise and let him go back on the floor.Keep doing this and eventually he will think "Hey, the bed isn't so bad I should come up on this bed more often!"~Good Luck!

You cannot make a dog like you and cuddle with you. It took me longer than a year to make my cat lay in bed with me! Just wait. In time he will get used to you and WANT to cuddle with you. Just give him some time. Don't force him! :o)

It is not recommended you do this but just wait. The puppy will come up on the bed by itself when it is ready
