Worrying is just part of the parent job. You can mo more stop worrying about her then you can stop loving her. All you can do is know that you gave her the tools to take care of herself.
Trying to distract yourself with a hobby or house cleaning is as pointless as spitting into the wind. A child is not some thing that you can just put out of your mind like a bad song.
You will also worry about her, it becomes part of your soul and part of your life just like the love. Just like some day when you have passed on missing you will be part of her life and soul. You go on with your daily life. I am sure you are a busy person with a job and things to do but some where deep inside you always worry, you always love
its just part of the parent job

I don't what the Lincoln Challenge is but I assume that is some sort of excursion and your baby is not leaving the nest for good. So, what can you do? Get busy. Tackle one of those monster projects that you have been putting off. Or go out and spend time with friends. The more you do, the quicker the time will pass until your little girl comes home to you.

It's always soooooooo hard when a child leaves the nest. I'm so lucky that both of my daughter's live close to me. I get to see them very often, but OMG, when they first left, I was literally sick. However, after a while, you get used to it, and life continues to go on. You're NEVER going to stop worrying about your kids, no matter how old they are, so don't even try, just don't dwell on it. If you're married, spend more time with the husband, and make time for you. Do anything that you've always wanted to do. I learned to snorkel, and now am able to travel. Good luck, and as time goes by, it will get easier. ~~~

Catch up on house cleaning, read a book or magazine article. Take a walk, call a friend and meet for coffee.

I know how you feel. My son went off to college this year. He is 5 hours away from home. I call and email him. It is hard when children grow up. Just keep him in your prayers and just know you did the best you could do raising her.

You're a mom. Worrying comes with the territory. Can't avoid it. If you worry, it means your a good mom and you care deeply about your childs well being. Kudos! I'm sure she is fine and will return safe and happy.

The best thing you can do is to keep busy. Do something that you enjoy and will occupy your time. DON'T sit at home worrying - it's not good for you OR for her.

Tell yourself that she is fine and the people will take care of her. Find things to do to replace her in your daily routine. Mrs Robin Mcgraw (wife of Dr. Phil) says good morning and goodnight to a picture of her son who has moved out of home. She also has lots of other tips for when you miss your children.

Best wishes.
