Well, this is not the kind of thing that you can just push a kid into.
Social anxieties, etc, need step-by-step processes.
The child, I'm going to guess, here, will do best to just see this great-grandma getting along with others, first.
If she doesn't,t ehn having her visit his house is just torture, and I wouldn't have it. He's not going to get over things that way.
But if mst people are comfortable with her, he'll see that.
Hopefully, once you explain his situation to her, she'll be wise enough in her years to let him be, and she'll find her very own way to reach out. When she senses the time is right. But please, talk to her about it. She's the adult here, but it would still be good for her to know from the get-go that it's not personal.

How about explaining what that an elderly person looks different because of their age. Maybe he hasn't been introduced to elderly people before and has no clue.

maybe you could get some old photos out and construct a story of how gran is related to him. keep it simple, and even begin by showing him some pics of her when she was younger first so the ageing process doesnt scare him if he is not use to seeing the elderly so much.

As a young child I was terrified of my Great Grandmother. Then one day she coaxed me up into her lap with one of my favorite candy bars and started telling me stories. Her stories and the candy bar :) were so good I forgot about being scared of her.
Hope that helps.

Simply warn her that the child is going through this phase and let her come. Maybe her kindness will help him to recover from this social phobia

Give them both a sherry - they will be best mates. Otherwise make sure she gets him a present - children can be easily bought in this way...

Alternatively tell him that if you are mean to old people young people will be even more horrid to him when he is old, and that if he is nice, he will be treated nicely by her...
