For males, I think Diesel is cute for small dogs and fitting for large dogs.
And for females, Joey; Billie or Danny. Something like that. Yeah, they"re boys' names but they can also be used for girls. They don't portray her as a sissy-dog like Fluffy, Muffin, and names along that line do. Good hunting!

I just got a small dog and we named him Colonel. You know like Army Colonel. You should give a small dog a name that you would give a big dog like: major or kujo.
For a brown or black dog try: rusty, ebony, russie

I thought about names like...Nelson, Harvey, or Murphy for bigger dogs. One of my college classmates named her black chihuahua "Dash."
My neighbor has two chihuahuas: a black one named Harley and a tan-yellowish one named Baby Doll (Baby Doll is the tempermental female one...lol).
