Find a school of pharmacy. I went to Purdue where I applied to be a pre-pharmacy student. After my first year of school, I had to apply to get into the pharmacy school. Many schools have you do 2 yrs. pre-pharmacy. I had 4 years of pharmacy school - 5 years of college total to get a B.S. The B.S. is no longer offered for pharmacist that want to practice. Currently, the entry level degree is a Pharm D. Most schools have a 6 year Pharm D. program. At least one school (Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine) has sped up the process by having students go year-round so one can graduate w/ a PharmD in 5 years - 2 years at any college, 3 years at LECOM. Once you graduate, you have to pass the boards in your state to practice. Every state has different rules, laws, and possibly exams. Most offer a standard test but different law exams. FL and CA are known to be tough states to get licensed in. NY requires a practical exam as well as a written exam. Once you pass the main test, you can usually get licensed in another state just by applying or by taking the state law exam only.

You will first need to take 2-4 years of prereqs. While it's not required to have bachelors, the trend is pointing that way. Once you are accepted, most pharmacy schools are 4 years in length. There are several 3 year schools. They go year-round.
After graduating, you have to pass two licensing exams: NAPLEX and your state's law exam.

...graduate from a school of pharmacology and pass the licensing exam. I had lots of friends in the school of pharm. at UConn and I know that it was not easy for them they studied a lot.... it's tough and 5 years for a bachelors degree instead of the usual 4 years.
