I've never heard of any of them being dug up and reburied in the states so I would think that all of them that were buried there are still there.

It is possible that the families of those fallen soldiers had their bodies shipped back to the U.S. later on, but they may have left the markers there. Remember, the American soldiers liberated France during the war. At least France gave them a place where there will always be a cross at their place of rememberance. Here in the U.S. organizations like the ACLU are trying to have the crosses taken off the soldiers gravesites. Just leave them be. They're at peace.

All of them. The practice at that time was to bury fallen soldiers in the country where they fell. Unless the family of a soldier took it upon themselves to foot the bill to re-interr the soldier stateside, all of the soldiers killed in France are buried in France.

Did you know that General George S. Patton Jr is buried in the US Military Cemetary in Germany for the same reason?
