E-8 Army - Master SGT or First Sergeant E-9 - Sergeant Major or Command Sergeant Major.

E-9 is the highest you can go as an enlisted person. In the army this would be Sergent Major, or Command Sgt.Major. An E-8 in the army is a Master Sgt., or First Sgt.
