go to a book store......there are books that break it down by breed and give you step by step instructions including what clipper blade to use where and what to do by hand.

When I first got my female Chinese Crested she HATED ANY kind of grooming!!! I cant tell you how many times she bit the brush and a couple times bit my hand. I just did not give up. I held her there even though she was flipping out (don't get mad, just take a "matter of fact" attitude). When she calmed down I started brushing her again. I repeated this process until the task at hand was completed. Now she will sit for hours while I trim her with the clippers/scissors brush and blow dry her. She still gets edgy about her toenails, I guess you could call her a work in progress!
