I love that song. Are you singing with a band or with a recording of the song? You may be able to tone the rock part down a little if you have a band playing with you. The lyrics though, are beautiful and I think Christians of any age will love them. Sounds like a great idea. Even if you decide to rock, I think they will like it.

Whenever ministering to other people, yes, you should consider your crowd. I would guess that the majority of your 40-something crowd would not pick Christian rock if given a choice, but that doesn't necessarily mean they won't at least be able to appreciate it. That being said, it's your style of music and someone has asked you to sing. Perform the song you think best for the day, the crowd and yourself. Remember that you are actually singing for a crowd of one...the Lord.

when you're pertaining to the "Christian Rock" music type, then the message is the same as different "praise" music. in case you do not merchandise to praise music frequently (such as classic hymns, and so on.), then i do no longer understand an objection to Christian Rock on non secular grounds. when you're pertaining to secular rock music, back, why distinguish the total type from different musical sorts? might want to Christians no longer take heed to secular symphonic products, jazz, or usa music? might want to Christians in common words take heed to music with an convey non secular message? in my opinion, no. God has given us the flexibility to adventure many pleasures. the love of excellent nutrients, the appreciation of resourceful expression. there's no longer something incorrect with taking section in the pleasures of this international see you later because the pursuit of those pleasures does no longer distort your morality. I gained't say that rock music, regularly, does that.
