Why do the australians have an army full of kid on soldiers, when it is well known and part of commonwealth diplomacy that britain (australias daddy) will protect them if they ever went to war.
The australian army is has one of the weakest navy, land force and airforces in the world.

Australians can sleep well at night knowing britain does not, britain protects australia as it is incapable of protectin itself.

quit aussie bashing

we we have various allies we can call on.

besides if it cam,e to that every aussie man woman and child would heed the call to arms to protect our country and way of life.

I should also mention long tan and gallipoli as sources of the heroics that ausses are capable of, I have seen nothing of the same to say for the british or american armies, please let me know if i am mistaken.

On the contrary.... in all the exercises we've been involved in together the Aussies have kicked the brits butts on the land, sea and air! The Aussie forces even give the US a good run for their money. We know for a fact that the RAF is ill equipped and the Royal Navy is particularly inefficient... and that's on the record from the Canadians and US too as well as others I'm sure. Your record in the two gulf wars was rather embarrassing with most of your losses coming from absolutely inept behaviour.

We know they are incapable of protecting Australia or NZ or anywhere else and past experience has proven that Britain cannot be relied upon to even attempt it.

Ask anyone who has served alongside the Aussies and you'll know what a ridiculous and uninformed statement you've made.

Sounds to me like you've had a run-in with some Aussies and this is the only way you can try to deal with it. Get therapy :-)

Now that depends of how you define "weak".

Whatever weakness you may perceive us to have in numbers, artillery or otherwise is made up for by pride, courage, spirit, training and a savvy that is admired world wide by other troops.

Instead of seeing us as being under Britain's wing, you should be grateful that you can call on the best of the world's armed forces as an ally. You are indeed fortunate.

As qldtravelguru said, we have other allys, we also have a nation fillled with the most fiercley patriotic, freedom loving battlers who would not hesitate to defend their country in it's hour of need.

Can Britain say the same? I think not - you are too bogged down with the vestiges of your crumbled colonialistic empire and have never fully recovered from the ramifications of your past actions.

Either way - British troops are some of the best in the world and, along with the Aussies, and don't leave out the Kiwis, everyone has each others backs in the trenches......what's more important?

Having served in both the Aust.Army and the R.A.A.F for thirteen years, and experienced the first gulf war and the Bougainvillea "coconut war" in the mid 90s, I can say that the Australian Defence Force is on top of its game in all areas of responsibility. The force is trained to the highest standards possible, and holds every seaman, soldier and airman in high regard as it is these very people who will have to make life changing decisions in the blink of an eye, if sent into harms way. Through basic training and all the way beyond, the serviceman/woman is instilled with a pride in his/her country (AUSTRALIA) second to none, and teamwork and your mates are what counts when the poo hits the fan.As for Britain protecting Aust. well just take a look at Basra. You can hardly do the job there because your Govt. cant supply the front line troops with what they need to see the job thru. I sense you may be an armchair wannabe who is playing with himself and wouldn't have the guts to be anything other than what you really are...A WANKER. Good luck to you .

what the hell have you been smoking ,

firstly if we aussies look back to Britain as ANYTHING ... it is The Motherland .. NOT it's daddy .. BUT most aussies don't even do that anymore...

and secondly .. YOU have no idea what the hell you are talking about ... right from the begining of australias involvement in any world conflict we have had the respect of those we fought WITH and even those we fought against...
infact EVEN before federation in 1901 .. the colonial men who fought in wars such as the Crimean and Boxer and the Boer wars , won the admiration of others...

Thirdly many Britains have NOT forgotten the aussies who flew over the years of the Blitz defending BRITAIN

forthly "IF EVER THEY WENT TO WAR"? what is that meant to mean .. we have been involved in nearly every world conflict since the turn of last century...

and last but not least ... perhaps my little insignifcant nematode of a pal... you might be better to assign your self more so to learning how to write a question that is readable ( as opposed to one we all have to try and translate) than to worry about your fairy tale idea of what australia's defence forces are like....

you write about Britain ... learn it's language FIRST.

EDIT .. I just want to add that I also hold the Kiwis right up there with our aussie troops. ANZAC DAY would only be AAC DAY without the kiwis :)

Ever heard of Gallopoli after our soldiers were sent in as cannon fodder by Churchill we learnt never to rely on the English to look out for us even though we came and fought your war for you you have such a stupid class system over there at least our soldiers are all equal. We protect ourselves and if we rely on anyone its USA not the Brits. Why don't you go and watch the cricket oh that's right with all the people in your country and only 20 million of us you still couldn't win a game.

Ignore this clown, it's just another troll.

Maybe you should teach your army to play cricket - you need some new players.
