Do women appreciate public expressions of affection while out in public? If your boyfriend constantly has a hand on your hip, etc is that a nuisance or do you actually enjoy it?

Kissing? Is it appropriate for your boyfriend to give you a light peck on the cheek or even lips while out in public?

How about fondling? A quick grope on the butt? Appropriate or would you not really like that in public?

By public I mean out on the street, in a restaurant for lunch, shopping, just casual outings.

Also keep in mind this would be in a newer relationship, like first 3-6 months.

I, personally, appreciate public affection. It makes me feel very secure when my man grabs my hand, puts his arm around on my neck, or give me light kisses. However, I wouldn't take it to the extreme where he can slap my butt, squeeze my breast, or anything else. I would save that for when we are in the comfort of our home. So, yes, women do appreciate it...we appreciate a lot of little things like that.

Kiss on the cheek - quick on the lips may not be bad. But as for as groping and fondling - be respectful of your g/f's feelings and those around you. For me, I've never been comfortable with. In fact, my husband still tries it and even though he doesn't intend for it to - it ends up making me feel cheap. However, assuming your g/f doesn't mind - most people don't want to watch this.

In public, keep things simple - small kisses, holding hands, putting your arm around her, opening doors, etc. These are good ways to show affection that won't get someone to yell, "Get a room!" at you.

The term "public display of affeftion" always brings to mind what I saw a few years ago while in a church service...I'll explain that later!

On to your question: Kissing? A quick peck is o.k. Don't grope anyone while in public. This shows a lack of respect. A slight arm on the shoulder would be o.k. but there should be some sort of restraint.

What did I see while in church? A couple of teenagers on the back row of pews....She was climbing on top of him while he was pulling down his pants. What did I do?
I handed the teenage girl my 1 year old daughter and asked her to hold the baby for a while. "you may as well get used to holding her, since that's probably what you'll get in nine months." I said.

At some point you need to get a room....nobody wants to watch you having sex in church or anywhere else. The question you should actually ask yourself is, "would this look right in church?"

Personally, I don't agree with certain public displays of affection ( groping, making out). I think that holding hands and the light peck on the cheek, or hand, or forehead would satisfy me. It shows that you're affectionate, but without being over the top.

Yes, I think that girls like knowing that their man is there to protect them (arm around them), that they are off limits to other guys (hand on their butt) and kissing in public is absolutely essential. It shows that they are in love, together, and not afraid to show this to people. I think this is definately appropriate even after 3-6 months.

"PDA's" in a fresh relationship will forever happen. If it's uncomfortable allow your mate to know. It can be highly titilating for the both of you as well as the public, but watch out for those olde snobby nosers that can't find happiness in anything.

PDA is good if it is just holding hands or something like that - but groping and being in my face would **** me off.

I like it. As long it it's not tonsil hockey, it's ok. If she has a sense of humor, and you make an effort not to be observed, a little grab-*** is ok.
