I tell this joke occassionally.
"Hey, did you hear about the dyslexic agnostic insomniac?"
"He stayed up all night wondering if there really is a dog."
In your case, as you said atheist, he would stay up all night believing there is no dog. There is a difference b/t atheist and agnostic.
