Dessie indeed.
Strange but true, a few days before the race a mate of mine told me and a few others of a dream he had a couple of times. In the dream, a motorbike was on a racecourse but that was all he remembered. Checking the odds for the Gold Cup a few days before the race, he noticed a horse called Norton's Coin and proceeded to tell all and sundry about his dream and how this complete outsider was going to win. We all laughed, then thought why not, it could be a muddy course, other horses might tire etc. A couple of my mates managed to get odds of 200-1 on the morning of the race but I had to "make do"(!) with 100-1, as I couldn't get to the bookies until just before the start of the race.
Fifteen minutes later, champagne all round!
Footnote: My mate who had the dream didn't back it, but to this day he can't remember why not!
