If there was an ice age the government would be our last problem. There wouldn't be anyway to grow food. We would all be freezing and starving to death. Who cares about the government?

Any kind of Ice Age would last for hundreds or thousands of years. It would be a gradual cooling of the climate and wouldn't even hardly be noticed by most people. There is not much any one or any government could do. What are they going to do?, promote so-called "Global Warming", "start making more greenhouse gases", "kill more trees so we produce more CO2". That would be insane wouldn't it?

With Global warming, no chance of that. Question is what's going to happen when the polar ice caps melt?

there is nothing they could really do.....the forces of nature are more powerful then any government agency....As we have seen in the past with the Tsunami and hurrican Katrina...all we could do is smile and nod.
