When and if we go to war with Iran or North Korea (or God forbid both), the draft will be reinstated. As it is our volunteer military is not large enough to do everything Bush is attempting to do (hence the NATIONAL Guard being sent to the conflict zones). So if we went to war with another country on top of it, we would certainly need a draft.

Sooner than anyone wants to admit. GW cannot or won't start one during his adminstration. He already said that he'll let the NEXT president address it. Even though he's having some soldiers doing 2-3 tours in the middle east. Look, bottomline, for the presiden or against him, the current level of troops cannot continue to do 2-4 tours of active duty like that. A draft has to occur or people will start losing their minds over there.....

Its already here hidden in a law that was pushed through by the current administration in the White House, it is called the No Child Left Behind Law. Look it up and read it, the recruiters upon request can get each and every junior and senior in high schools names, addresses, telephone numbers etc. The only way to keep you children protected is to opt out and that is really hidden well in the rules of the school that they hand out each year. It is a very deceiving law, and if you have children I would suggest reading it with a fine tooth comb. I did and it is sickening.

Maybe by next year. Hard to say, depends on whether talks work. Because if the Mexicans keep crossing our border and with what's going on in the middle east, they will probably need more military to fight.

No draft. Modern US military has no use for legions of ground pounders

When the Dems bring it back.

FYI: Vietnam was a LIBERAL war. Kennedy and Johnson were both Dems.

Nixon Republican was elected on a platform to get us out of Nam.
