there is no love" and "No marriage can work without God"?
I find it offensive. What do you think?

God is not some awful Supreme Being...he is a wonderful, kind, and loving God. and You should not make comments about something that you have no idea what you are talking about. someone says something and you run with it thinking that is all there is to it. God is what helps a marriage to work. of course you have to work at it, because God isn't going to HELP someone who doesn't help themselves. Marriage is difficult and takes a lot of work. I find it irritating when Atheists say blasphemous things about God, whom I love SO much, and It hurts me to know, that you all refuse to love him. believe it or not God is what holds a marriage together because without him in your lives then it won't last. Humans are far too ignorant, and think they can do everything on their own without him. which is complete poppy-cock. We are NOTHING without him, and we wouldn't even be here. I'll pray for all of you, because You don't know what you're missing....

Well bettie, I don't believe in love. Marriages can work without gods though. I do find it offensive because it's like saying we have no commitment.
"Without Jesus there would be no 2007"
Yeah, we would have another way of counting the years, like the Chinese do perhaps. Plus since we took Jesus out of time the earth revolves so much smoother.
No more BC AD it is now BCE, CE for those of you who still live in the dark ages.

Why accept it as offensive? These days, people get offended too easily. You need to relax and take things in stride.
They don't understand what they are talking about...why get upset about it? Why hold it against them?
It is like if someone blatantly insults you. Ponder what was said...if what they say is true, change. If what they say is false, what does it matter what was said.
You don't have to accept what was said and CHOOSE to be offended by it.
Why cause yourself such grief?

I'm not an Athiest but I, too, find that kind of trash-talk offensive. Putting down a commited relationship for whatever reason is completely uncalled for.
However, I take solice in knowing that these people have no idea what they're talking about.

I'm not an atheist, but a Wiccan, and I find it extremely offensive. As if two adults aren't capable of maintaining a relationship without a wrathful, vengeful, jealous creator hanging over their head!!! So you're not the only one m'dear!

No Marriage should be without God.
Don't take offense Just Prove then wrong by quoting the Scriptures and If there eyes are open they can see that God does exist we did not get here by the big band theory

Not really, how would they know that our relationships can't work.
At least we know "God" won't get in the way of our relationships and we wont quarell over stupid crap like that.
They don't know what they're talking about and how can marriage not work without "God" what if one partner believes in god but one doesn't?

Did they post that? I'd like them to back it up, especially since the divorce rate among Christians is higher than that among Atheists. So if they have nothing to back it up, I'd find it very offensive.

Totally agree.I read the question you are referring to and found some of the answers both offensive and yet laughable.To think that some people actually believe the things they wrote is just ludicrous

It is absolutely offensive for them to say that any of my actions or choices won't succeed because I don't have a God. I think any time someone tries to impose their religion on me in any way its offensive. To judge me in the context of their religion is offensive. Religion is offensive!!
