i need to know how decorate my room?

im turning 16 and my room is not really me when we moved here we redid every thing but my room it was last redecorated in the 70's and has purple shag carpet and fuzzy wall papper to match i really dont like it but dont know what i want to do any ideas for me i like skateboarding and rock and simple things and no bright colors can i do any thing with that help please

With you getting ready to turn 16 you may not want to go with a "theme" room. You will be driving soon and might not have much time for that skateboard and might outgrow a theme too fast. In my experience with two teenage daughters, they wanted to change their rooms as much as they changed their clothes!

The solution to that:
I let them choose 3 colors. The walls were painted a light, neutral color. One of the 3 colors we used for their comforter and curtains. For the comforter we bought a reversible one. One side was one solid color and the other side was a different solid color. You can find them everywhere and they are cheap. We lucked out that both sides were colors she had chosen for her room so she could flip the comforter over for a whole new look when she got tired of one color and sometimes she would make her bed and fold the top half down to show both colors for a different look.

The other two colors were accent colors for accessories like; lamps, pillows, throw rug, trash can, pictures, frames, etc. We put up a huge cork board and that is where she put all of her "things" - whatever she happened to be interested in at that time. One of them was into smiley faces and had tons of different smiley face stuff pinned to her cork board, the other one was into sports and had a sports theme going on, on her cork board.

This seemed to work out the best because when they got sick of their rooms...or wanted to change the "theme" ....and they did....it was much cheaper and easier to redo. Therefore they got to change it more often.

Whatever you choose, just make sure YOU like it and that when you are in your room it makes you feel calm and happy.

umm take out the purple shag and fuzzy wall paper
paint the walls a cream colour
bring in or paint your old be, dresser and stuff black
behind your bedd or any empty wall space in the room put pictures of you and your friends or stuff (skateboard, your fav band) you like in picture frames -- picture frames give a a sophysicated look and you can put w.e you want in them so it works as a poster but in a more elegant sorta way

plus polka dots are in so yuh can put those on you ed comfortor or something

and if you arent too tight on budget you can get llk a black carpet and stuff

realli if you wanna redecorate keep in mind to paint the walls a light colour and then out in dark furniture and stuff it gives a nice effect trust mehh

dunt make the mistake off colourin your walls dark yuh jus end up needing too many lites and its jus not too cool

Well, there are posters simplest of TH in all of the partitions xD even within the roof . I have over one hundred posters certain ! xD I have too a shelf just for TH matters with magazines simplest of TH , photoposters of TH, my stuck on digicam and zimmer 483 DVD's and the disc schrei, room 483 and scream , aside from this I have a few pins of TH, my TH speciall version of scream, one bracer, and I suppose thas is all XD certain I forgotting some thing xD I have too a mattress for two people with a white dorsel , an excessively enormous television, I do not know , such a lot of matters xD and there are 2 home windows and one balcony....^^ I'm so sorry for mi english

First, get rid of everything that isn't YOU! Second, decide on a budget with your mom/dad/parental person. If you are on a limited budget, check out some decorating books and magazines at the library, or some sites on the web. Then hunt for look-a-likes, etc. at thrift shops, garage sales, and junk stores. Remember, paint transforms old stuff into great stuff for not a lot of money. Ask your artsy friends for ideas.
