Does anyone know where I can find some cast iron welding rod for stick welding at a reasonable price? I am a little tired of paying $2.00 a stick for it.

I have purchased Super Stoody Build up rods for particular jobs where we had to build up worn castings. These are typically more expensive as they are not as commonly used as your baisc 7018, 6010, 8010, 6011, 6013, 11018, etc. The only best answer is to go to a welding supply store. Some in Canada are Air Liquide, Praxair. USA are Hobart or Lincoln Electric. These companies employe experts in the selction of welding electrodes. Ensure that you are buying the proper electrode for the casting that you are welding, and the professionals can help you pick out these electrodes.

Also see Air Liquid's Blue Book for filler materials, or Lincoln Electrics Filler Metal Handbook.

Our True Value Carries Them. They are Nickel Rods and can get expensive. Really I Guess it depends on where you live. Also Try Lowe's or Home Depot Because they sometimes carry a selection of Forneys Rods. they usually come in a pack of 10 for about 7$. Other wise hunt down a weldin supplier...Airgas, Valley, Robert Oxygen...
