i like to eat quinoa for my health being so high in protien and alcalizing. the problem is it has such a stong taste. i soak it over night and rince it well. i also keep it in the freezer to keep it from going bad. but still its a little strong any suggestions on spices i could add to it or other methods of preping it to soften the bitterness?

Try this:

Garlic Quinoa

1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup chopped onions
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 cup quinoa, rinsed well and drained
2 cups water or broth
1/4 teaspoon salt

Sauté onion in olive oil for 2-3 minutes; add garlic and continue sautéing for another 30 seconds or so.
Add quinoa, water and salt to pan; bring to boil then reduce heat then cover and simmer 15 minutes until liquid is absorbed.

I find that it doesn't taste bitter. This is how I prepare it - I rinse it well and then simmer on a low boil for 15 minutes. It goes very well with almost anything. Try it with a stir fry of fresh veg with garlic, onions and sesame oil and either shrimps/chicken or smoked tofu. Eating it with sweet vegatables works well even onions have a sweetness to them when cooked. I eat organic quinoa maybe that also helps with the flavour.
