world famous killer mashed potatoes

2-3 lbs (or more) russet potatoes
2-3 tablespoons butter or margarine (more or less depending on your taste)
about 1 teaspoon of pepper (again to your taste)
1 teaspoon (or more......bam!) garlic powder.
pinch of salt (again to your taste)
about 1/4 to 1/2 cup milk

To peel or not to peel
I do not peel the potatoes and everyone that has tried them loves them. You CAN peel them if you want to but you are throwing ALL of the nutrients away. A potato without its peel is almost 100% starch, nothing but empty calories. Here's what you do

Cut the potatoes into quarters. They will cook much after this was. Cook the potatoes in boiling water for about 15 minutes or until you can insert a fork all they way through the potato and it still feels firm not mushy. Make sure you do not over cook. Drain off the water and immediately add the butter, garlic, salt and pepper. Mix until blended. Your potatoes will be a little dry at this point. SLOWLY add the milk while whipping until you reach the desired consistency, DO NOT just dump the entire amount as it may be to much and ruin your dish.

Use a rubber spatula to scrap them into a serving dish and your spuds are ready to serve and impress.

I also add green chili's sometimes or anything else you want but it is best to keep them simple.

the finest and perfect thanks to make tremendous mashed potatoes is: a million. Boil the potatoes entire till fork tender (about 2 kilos). 2. Press them by a ricer (about $15-20 and so properly worth it for ideal mashed potatoes) back into the pot (without the nice and cozy temperature on). 3. upload 6-8 TB of butter. 4. hearth up the potatoes so as that the butter melts. 5. upload about a million/2 cup - a million cup warmed milk or 0.5 and 0.5. start up with a million/2 cup and artwork your way as a lot as make positive the potatoes do not get soupy - you could continually upload extra. Season liberally with salt and pepper and serve! in case you do not opt for to do entire potatoes to start with, you could cut back them up and boil them that way. And in case you haven't got a ricer (which i can't propose adequate!) then you definitely can use a masher or nutrition mill. blending them with some thing electric powered might want to be a puzzling proposition and also you would possibly want to finally end up with a gluey mess, so i'd keep on with mashing by hand. also, each so often even as i opt for garlic mashed potatoes, i visit throw some cloves of garlic (with skins) in with the potatoes even as boiling and then only press them ideal by the ricer. That way you may have a good common garlic style on your potatoes for some thing slightly distinct. some human beings save recommending a potato masher over a ricer. you could honestly use a masher, besides the undeniable fact that the potato ricer promises you silky potatoes without being gluey/soupy or lumpy.

You really can't go wrong with mashed potato but I have found my kids love it simple. Butter, milk, pepper and garlic salt. Just make sure you get rid of all the lumps they ruin a good mash.

Start off by peeling your potatoes and cut them into 1/2" cubes or bigger. Rinse off and place in a pot of cold water and boil until tender. Drain the potatoes and add 2 tablespoons of sour cream, about 1/2 cup of milk, salk and pepper to taste. Use a mixer and cream until smooth. Add a few pats of butter on top and sprinkle with dried parsley for decoration.

To your peeled, cut up and cooked potatoes, add butter, and alittle bit of hot milk to them while you are mashing or whipping them up. Add small quantities of the milk at a time so they don't get too thin.
2. You can also add garlic, parsley and sour cream to the mix. 3. You can also add soft cream cheese, sour cream and top with grated cheddar cheese and then bake. Lots of calories, but good!
