Yes!
I had to get rid of my cats after an emergency attack that put me in the hospital for two weeks when I was little.
I have a cat now, but I have to take a prescription asthma & allergy med everyday and night.
Cats definetly have an affect on atsmatic people, and on anyone. My husband is not athsmatic but the cat still bugs his allergies.
So, I would se how they react for a while, and then if anything drastic happens, get rid of it fast!!!

Sorry, but you're not going to be able to get that cat. Its the dander and saliva of the cat that causes reactions. I'm so allergic that if a cat touches my skin, I turn red where ever I've been touched.

a cat is the worst thing u can get for people with asthma. it is not the hair of a cat, but their saliva and dander is actually the problem. below is a link for more information. there are different breeds of dogs however, with hair, not fur, that may be a better choice for your children. hope this helps

I have extremely bad allergies and asthma around cats. If you have your heart set on getting a cat, perhaps buy one that doesn't shed, or sheds very little.
We own three cats, one siamese, and two "mutt" cats, but they don't shed that much, and we keep them brushed, so I don't have a problem with my asthma.

I have asthma that episodes are only caused by cat dander. I would be very cautious. Depending on their age (and their ability to communicate their symptoms) you may want hold off.

I would definetly say so because the hair in stuff flying around when your cat sheds is bad for any one. I suggest brushing them out every morning and night OUT side

I think so....my mom is asthmatic, and she has a hard time breathing around my cat...might just be that she's allergic though
