Believing that he is real is not believing that he is a god. He is a fallen angel who has taken over this planet since the Fall of Adam and Eve. God doesn't have to "fight" Satan to win, He will simply destroy him. There is a spiritual war going on right now. Good angels and fallen angels are competing for the consciences of Men. Both sides will try to persuade humans to make good or bad choices respectively, but ultimately the choice falls to the human. It seems by looking at the news every day that humans tend to listen more to Satan's angels than God's. God must allow Satan to pursue his course so that when God finally destroys him, no one will question God's justice - no one will pity Satan. If God had destroyed him when he first rebelled, other angels and beings would have worshipped God out of fear, and wondered whether Lucifer was right.

Satan is a created being, not a god. The common misconception of Christianity is that there is a cosmic battle for heaven, or some cosmic struggle for power, this is not true however. According to Scripture, God has already ordained the beginning and the end, and Satan is used as a means...in the meantime.

Believing that Satan is real does not make him a god, although Satan is a spiritual being, just as angels are. As for God having to fight him to win, that's already happened. Jesus did that on the cross.

Whether (Christian) people realize it or not, they do elevate Satan up on a level of a god. They credit him with all sorts of things: tempting them to sin, making them do bad things, putting thoughts into their minds, having the power to posses people, stealing souls, etc.. Basically their view of Satan is one of dystheism, that is they believe he exists and that he is evil.
Also, they have this idea in their head that for an being to be a god they have to be omnipotent and all. Not so. In the case of Christian mythology, Satan might be considered a lesser god. But he still has all the powers most other mythologies assign to their gods.

No, he is a fallen angel. The Bible tells us angels & satan exsists. He is against God and wants to lead us away from God, that is why is is Gods opponent not b/c he is in anyway equal to God. He is much, much lower then God.

No it doesn't. Satan is a fallen angel. It is us that have to fight him. If God fought him than he would not be here. What do you want? Life is not so simplistic. If we had nothing to fight against than how would God's glory be apparent when we won.
Sorry I have been corrected. Satan is a God but the Lord tells us not to worship other Gods. "Those who reject Christ and prefer their own pusuits have unknowingly made Satan their God"

It can be confusing. Satan is head deamon.
There is a whole invisable realm all around us. Believing in the existance of satan does not make him God. Like when one is fighting or going to war they believe and take the opponents' strength seriously. You believe in that opponent in so far as them wanting to kill you and believing they have power to kill you.
Kinda like that. satan is real and messes with all of us daily. He HATES all of humanity and wants to see us in hell.
This is kind of involved. You can email me if you want to talk further about it.

Satan was an angel that was cast out of heaven... now he is dead set on taking every one with him, he loves it when people are doing what God doesn't want him to do... he thinks he is winning.... God loves you and He wants you to be with him, but he gives us free choice.... He doesn't want anybody with him who doesn't want to be.... So you chose who you will worship... I believe Satan is real " going around seeking whom he may devour" but I don't hold him high and praise him... that is what you do with a god... God is who I worship... and it is him who i exalt!

Do you have to be a god to fight with God? Certainly believing something to be real doesn't make it a god. So, I guess I don't get the question?
