You will need to make sure the subfloor is strong enough to carry the load and prevent cracking in the grout. 3/4" is sufficient; or plywood, OSB and dura-rock will suffice. Good luck.

heck,the choice is YOURS,you know...but I'll put my 3 cents in,anyway.
The first time we tried tiling,my mom was TERRIFIED, I mean, scared spit-less. But it was really easy, and because we were SO careful, it came out just drop-dead gorgeous.
Now my mom tiles everything, the hearth, showers, bathrooms, rooms, kitchens, and probably our DRIVEWAY.
We have that many tiles to use, too. We hit great sales, and have literally millions of expensive tiles, cheap.
If you go for tile, go into Home Depot, or Lowes, and see what they have nice on sale.
Get, or rent a GOOD tilesaw, though, try a stand one, and NOT the one on the floor. The water tilesaw is my moms favorite, she got it for her birthday a while back, you can do everything with that saw.

Check the condition of your subfloor and any moisture issues before laying tile. Some tile is coming already together in 12 x 12 sheets and you adhere and grout. Remember to put down a mud bed or use special underlayment board for this kind of floor.

Tile is always the best option for bathrooms. Tile is easy to clean and maintain and provides another water barrier. Just make sure that you use a good backing, such as durarock.

The only thing you have to be careful of is what material is beneath the tile. Wooden floors, for example, are not always good for tile because many types of wood have a little bend in them as you walk. this will cause your tile to crack and break.

yeah no problem. just make sure the sub floor is leveled off .You can use a filler to level the floor. You will need to use a concrete board for the sub floor. you can buy this at any home improvement store.

Of course you should! But dont just stack them in there, actually install them with mortar and grout. Make sure they stick good, and look nice with the color of your walls. Its no fun breaking them out!
