Since the earth saving minority has a large voice I would like to know how can we convince them that making electricity is a huge polluter.Very little electricity is made by water power. We should all be pushing for the absolute clean fuel. Hydrogen. And yes I do know about it's volitility.Oh, by the way. The so called good cars, the hybrids, use gasoline power after the speed of fifty miles per hour. So where is the pollution savings. In town where most commuters don't drive. Amazing just how stupid the human race has been made by it's government.

I agree with you... our government has made us idiots. That's what they want us to be.....noone cares about a clean world.. you give a kid a ps3 or an Ipod and they could careless about whats going on in the world....

Adults are too busy paying bills and having baby momma /daddy drama and we just use what we can afford.. because survival is such a struggle.

There are few groups out there that acually promote planet health...but I suggest you lay off on thinking about electricity as an alternative fuel or any alternative...America wants to control people with the economy...using oil...petrolium....

Did you know the computerized car was already created? The flying car? and they were BANNED because it would have been a disturbance to the economy....even if its better for our country... our government is too greedy to worry about our future..There's a movie called the electric car.... you should watch it...you won't find it just anywhere because it is not convinient to our country to have it spread around... but you will definately enjoy it..

And theres few people out there that realize all this or they are just fanatic and completely ignorant...so noone is really stupid... we are all controlled.

Keep in mind everything we discuss , has been thought/processed and experimented before...but that's why i don't bother...because seriously? what's the point..if they catch anyone driving a non oil powered car, will be confiscated....even though they should allow us to at least do what Brazil is doing and use corn oil to run cars....but it seems like that's going to be a big NO too.

a. The idea of hybrid cars in town is to cut down on the pollution since most in town driving is below 50 miles per hour.

b. Fuel is something that is burned, so electricity my be an energy source but it will never be a fuel.

c. I have seen a hydrogen explosion and believe me, the problems of the chevelle and pinto gas tanks is nothing compared to this.

d. Natural Gas is the cleanest burning fuel and can be used with current technology.

e. Tell me how you are going to make the hydrogen without using a different fuel source other than hydrogen or using electricity?

to address all of your questions...

1. electricity is the product not the fuel. it is energy. it can be used to power cars, boats and yes even trains and planes... is it efficient. not always...
2 not a question but needs addressing...-- the production of electricity is carried out in many ways, not the least of which using dirt burners. This is inefficient but effective. next you have nuclear power this is most efficient and effective but controversial then you have Hydro, solar, wind and thermal production these are gaining in efficiency but still lack effect and are also cost prohibitive at the current time.
3 you question Hydrogens use. First the technology is not currently to that point. in the future hopefully but what you propose is a hydrogen cell that works on the premise of "cold fision or fusion" either way you are dealing with a very unstable reaction that needs to be controlled in a small space. As this is near impossible to do for people trained in the practice I ask you if you would consider it wise to put something like this into a car that Joe nobody drives to work.
and 4. Stupid is taking a leap into something without knowing the ramifications of ones actions. The human race on the whole exhibits traits that are not stupid in nature but to the contrary we are advancing with caution and care. This is very smart in my opinion... When the fuel cell is perfected and the reaction made stable enough to be viable you can be sure I will be one of the first to own one till then Quit whining and take the bus.

There are other ways of making electricity beside coal buring, there is solar power and wind generation. These are extremely clean methods and getting more efficient all the time. I believe electricity can be an effective alternative someday, and we are clearly moving in that direction. The new Tesla electric car runs on about 2 cents of electricity per mile. It also can eventually have zero pollution and no greenhouse gases. It still needs work, but I believe it is a good direction to head in.

In general I agree with you. Swapping gasoline burning in cars for coal or natural gas burning (that is how a majority of electricity in the US is produced, with coal being >50%) to produce electricity is not the best idea. The way around this? Nuclear power. Clean, cheap, SAFE. Don't believe me? Have you ever head of a nuclear accident in France? Did you know they get the majority >75% of their electricity from nuclear power. France also generates significantly more electricity than it consumes each year and exports that electricity to neighboring countries, mainly to Switzerland, the U.K., Italy, and Germany.
So they make more than they need, they sell the rest. Proper recycling of nuclear fuel also reduces wasted tremendously, but that is another topic.

Under your theory what do we need to do ,kill a few billion people. That is intelligent . what about the plants that take in CO2 and put out oxygen. if it wasn't for the plants u are trying to kill we wouldn't be any way. Plants need the CO2 as much as u need oxygen. maybe u want to trade??

And just where do you think the hydrogen will come from?
