Ramos and Compean were sentenced to 11 years and 12 years respectively. Oh, and the smuggler was granted immunity for the 743 pounds of pot, and is suing the federal government for $5 million.
As everyone knows, drug smugglers would never carry a concealed weapon and prosecutors should take a drug-ring lieutenant’s word over that of Border Patrol agents with clean records.

The scum bag smuggler should be in jail, not the border agents. What happened to them is criminal!

I heard an interview with the prosecutor. He said that if they had filed a proper report there wouldn't have been a problem. So these HEROES are going to be in Federal Prison for over a decade for bad paperwork! They are thousands of miles from their families. They each have three small kids. This is wrong.

BTW, after the scum bag Mexican got immunity, he was caught smuggling more drugs. He's free and the heroes are in prison.

You obviously didn't read the whole story. It wasn't just the drug smuggler that testified against the officers, there were other officers that testified against them. The officers shot an unarmed man who was fleeing, then tampered with the crime scene and evidence to the point that the US Attorney's officer could not prosecute the drug smuggler, and then lied to their suprvisor's and investigators about the incident.

I have no love for illegal immigrants. I have no love for drug smugglers. I have a tremendous amount of respect for the men and women who protect our borders, but these guys were wrong.

Here's a little quote about your "agent of the year": "Reality: Agent Ramos has never received any formal recognition or award for being the Border Patrol Agent of the year. In fact, he has been arrested on at least two occasions for domestic abuse and was formally disciplined for conduct unbecoming a federal officer."

Try doing a little research, links already provided.

That makes me so angry that I can barely stand it. I have been ranting about it since last night. How in the world could they do something like that? They would rather have a drug smuggler running loose! I can't comprehend what has happened to our government. It's totally outrageous and it's time the citizens of the United States of America stood up and said in one voice, "We will not take it any more!"

We've gotta ALL write our congressional rep's and senators. This is absolutely the cruelest thing our government has done intentionally to any loyal servant. I'm really starting to detest the kinds of things going on.
