According to the Apostles Creed, yes he did.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:

Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.

He descended into hell.
The third day He arose again from the dead.

He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy *catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.

Amen.

The answer depends on the definition of Hell and the Bible version you use.
In Acts 2:22-27, Young's Literal Bible and the American Standard uses "Hades", but if you read the King James Bible, you read in 27, "Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption."
(Here, hades and thus hell in KJ refers to the common grave of mankind, not to a place of suffering--short explanation about this at the end. That is why the French Louis Segon of 1910 simply says "séjour des morts" -->English: "place of the dead" )
By reading from 22, you understand that since Christ wasn't left in Hell he must have gone there!

In Rom 6:7, Paul states, "For he that is dead is freed from sin." So all who die are released from their sin and do not have to suffer. (some will disagree with this) However, the gift of eternal life in Paradise is reserved for those who have faith (John 3:15, 16) The wicked (God's defines who that is) will not receive this; rather, they will receive everlasting death, sleep.
Of course, Christians believe that Christ was without sin--the second Adam.

No.

Jesus is now in heaven to rule over his Messianic Kingdom.

First of all, hell (or hades) is the common grave. No way would such a loving God put anyone through a fiery hell to burn eternally.

And second, Jesus died for our sins to fulfill the will of his father, God Almighty. God's purpose or will is for all humankind to serve him in righteousness in a paradise earth, which is soon to come.

Read your Bible!

He sure did.
He went to personally tell Satan that all those souls the ones he thought he had stolen from God, now belonged to God again because Jesus had paid their sin debt in full.
(I bet ol' horned-head was not happy with that news.)
Part of paying YOUR sin debt involved going to Hell, as you would have, had Jesus not given Himself up for YOU.
Cool, eh?

No because Jesus had lived a perfect life. He had not sinned himself. That is why he could take the burden for our sins and still be resurrected.

3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death * in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

He overcame death and hell and grabbed their keys. Death couldn't keep Him in the grave.

He raised from the dead and also the OT Saints in Abrahams bosom (Paradise) spirits raised up to go to the 3rd heaven.
