What do I need to connect my camcorder (Sony Handycam DVC) to my computer to copy my home movies onto my hard drive.
I'm attempting to take my mini-tapes and burn them onto a DVD that I can share with friends/family...just don't know the steps/procedures/software/hardware I need to complete this quest.

Help? Pwease?

Through an IEEE1394 port or a USB 2.0 port (whichever your camera has) you should (Step 1)download your videos to your PC (again IEEE1394 port or USB 2.0 port need) using the appropriate cable (IEEE 1394 or USB).
When capturing (I recommend Pinnacle Studio - 7, 8 or another) select DV full-quality capture.
After capturing select Edit (Step 2) and play with it.
Finally select Make Movie (Step 3) and bur onto DVD.
I hope your PC can handle it!

Good luck!
