I know this question might sounds crazy but here is my story in a nutshell. The day before Christmas my family and I adopted a one year old bloodhound named Zoe from our local animal shelter. She is a very sweet and mild manner dog. She is a little shy and rarely barks. Recently though I noticed something a little odd.....sometimes, usually at night, when I'm sitting on our couch in our family room Zoe will randomly go into a fit of barking. She will get right in front of me and start barking and growling but although she is in front of me she looks past me like over my shoulder and she seems to be following something because her head will go side to side. I always look behind me into the rest of the room and never see anything. She not only barks but she starts growling and when I reached out to her last night I could feel her whole body trembling.

Let me tell you about my house real quick.....Our home is the oldest one inour neighborhood. It has been traced back to the underground railroad and we evenhave passages that you can walk into and see writings on the wall. In the past there has been some unexplainable activity such as lights, music, and water turning off and on and some werid noises. Granted I know our home is old so these things could simply be attributed to that. But now that our dog is acting weird I was just wondering if anyone had any similar experiences!

She could be noticing rodents in the walls, or even termites are heard by dogs...As she does this at night, the rodents or termites would be most active at that time, and other sounds have quieted down..

However, as dogs are so intuitive, she may well be seeing ghosts..I wouldn't put it past them.

I can't believe you asked this question , this is great I've always wondered myself about this but believe it to be true. I was recently living in a house that has paranormal things going on. Actually a couple of people have passed away in this house but while I was living there along with 4 dogs, 2 cats, and 1 parrot. At night the dogs were doing a lot of barking and also while I was watching TV sometimes one of the dogs would look up past me and follow something w/ her head also and nothing would be there. The cats would always steadily stare at something and follow it and the other dogs would growl. My friend had more experiences than me in that house to where she would feel a presence behind her and actually see shadows and feel a change in temperature in different rooms. And I have seen w/ my own eyes an indention in the chair that no one was sitting in beside me and the dog at the time was looking right in that direction so yes I do believe animals in general can sense paranormal activity.

I once had an elderly lady for a friend. She had a wonderful little dog. A mix of some sort. She had the dog trained well and it behaved very well. Learn here https://tr.im/rn8fI

She kept an uncovered candy dish on her coffee table with candy in it. The dog was forbidden to eat the candy. When she was in the room observing the dog he did not even appear to notice the candy. One day while she was in her dinning room she happened to look in a mirror and could see her dog in the living room. He did not know he was being watched. For several minutes he was sitting in front of the candy bowl staring at the candy. Finally he reached in and took one. He placed it on the table and stared at it, he woofed at it. He stared some more, licked his chops and PUT IT BACK in the bowl and walked away. Did he want the candy, oh yeah. Did he eat it? Nope. They can be trained that well but most, I'll admit, are not trained that well. When I was a young boy, maybe 5 years old. We had a german shepherd. He was very well trained also. My mom could leave food unattended on the table, no problem. She would open the oven door and set a pan roast beef or roast chicken on the door to cool. No problem. He would not touch it, watched or not. But butter? Whole other story. You leave a stick of butter anywhere he could reach and it was gone. He was a large shepherd so there were not many places he could not reach. Really, I think the number of dogs trained to the point they will leave food alone when not being supervised is very small indeed.
.
Now if we are talking obedience training, not food grubbing, that is a different story. Way back when I was first learning obedience training one of the final exercises was to put our dogs in a down/stay and not only leave the room but leave the building for 15 minutes. The only person that stayed was our trainer, not the owners. Most of the dogs in my class did not break their stay, which would be an automatic fail. I'm happy to report my dog was one of the ones that passed.

Wow, that sounds freaky. Is this the only room she does it in, or is it all over the house. One off the wall idea, that might help you catch something. Do you have a video camera or can you borrow one from someone? Have you tried setting up a camera with it facing in the direction the dog is looking at, but make sure you have alot of tape? Just try to let it run for a few hours, and when you play it back, see if there is anything on it. You may want to try it for a couple days and see. Let us know what happens.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU7at

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

Many people believe that dogs can sense paranormal activity. Whether they can or not we'll never really know.

Your dog may have been tuned into the energy of a spirit crossing the room, or maybe he was listening to water in the pipes in the wall or listening to a sound in the neighbours yard. Maybe he's hearing high pitched frequencies coming from your television or radio that you can't hear.

It's impossible to tell. Don't you wish they could speak sometimes?!!!

I would say yes - I believe you and I believe in ghosts....It could very well be that your house is haunted by slaves that seeked shelter there.

My aunt's mother died and had a very old house. After her death, my aunt rented out the house to a woman in her mid-30's. Everything was good for the first 2 months, but then strange things started to happen...It started with the sound of a womans heals (From shoes) going down the hall late at night. A couple more months passed and lights started going on and off randomly. After that, the ghost started helping out around the house - The woman would wake up in the morning to find all of her stockings and underwear out of her drawers and hanging in the bathroom ("Drying", but they were not wet). She would hear a broom sweeping in kitchen, run in and find it in the corner...

After checking public records, my aunt found that a 22 year old woman had died in the house in 1902. She contacted her priest and an excorcist was performed.

Try to contact your local church...

That is deffinitly true. I have an Australian Shepherd that is a little over a year old. She does hardly ever bark but she will sometimes get up and throw a barking fit. And since my brother has passed away it has become a lot more intense like she almost senses him.

The existance of paranormal activity itself is bunk. There is nothing for a dog to detect.
