before he can/should be neutered. He's 7 months right now, and really meowing and scrathching to get out. Anything else to keep him quiet. He's indoor.

He is old enough to be neutered now and it should be done for his long-term health and well-being. It will also prevent him from spraying urine as he gets more mature. It might help with him from wanting to go out since neutered males are less inclined to wander.

my vet said that it is ok to spay and neuter at 4 months as long as the males have their testicles.

Usually at 7 months an all indoor cat will be curious and want out this will pass just be careful when opening the door so he won't bolt out. This will last for a few months and will happen from time to time.

Good luck

Neuter him now. :-) Pretty soon, he will be causing all kinds of trouble! Honestly! Peeing all over the place, marking his territory, and trying to get out to any female cat within blocks or, perhaps, miles!

For your own sake, get him neutered.

Some people may find it mean to get their pets neutered.

However, there are many dogs and cats living out on the streets, without owners, and who are starving or put to sleep. It is better to have a pet neutered or spayed than for the pet to have puppies or kittens who must be put to sleep.

Best Wishes.

Now is fine, if he is a boy, and definantly NOW NOW NOW if its a girl. Girl cats can breed at 5 and 6 months of age. Generally books and rule of thumb says around 8 months for Tom (boy) cats, cause of weight reasons, and the fact that the testicles have dropped from the body cavity, but cats develop at diffrent rates, and you want to get this done before he starts worse behavoir like spraying and marking. TIME TO CALL VET NOW!! hehe

I think they only have to be 6 months old. I would do it before he starts spraying everything, because once he starts that, its hard to get them to stop even after neutering. You could also get him toys to keep him distracted or one of those cat towers, when my cat was that age, he loved them.
