Acid reflux perhaps?? Do you feel like there a big bubbles of gas stuck all the way up from your chest half way up your throat too?? Constantly trying to burp and swallow? Full of uncomfortable wind all the time? If so, probably lactose intolerance, nasty isn't it?? Me too.............. Just cut out all dairy, eggs are o.k. though. Change your milk to an alternative like soy milk or rice milk. No ice-cream, cream, yohurt, chocolate, basically anything with lactose in it.......... You wont know yourself once you beat the monster!!! Check out the net for lactose intolerance cos its a sneaky little devil, even some candy has lactose in it.!!!
Cheers

This could be one of many problems, so you should report it to your doc. If it's just that food travels slowly down your esiophagus, it shouldn't be a problem, but if it gets stuck frequently or if soft foods and liquids are getting stuck you should see your doc asap as you may have an increased risk of choking.
Hiatal hernia can cause this, but it's not common. Most hiatal hernias cause no symptoms, or only indigestion.
A condition called achalasia can be the cause, or it could be irritation caused by reflux, or it could be a stricture (narrowing) of the esophagus. Whatever the cause, it's not likely to go away on it's own, and can get worse.

You may be eating and swallowing too much food at once. Slow down. Take smaller bites
