I have recently discovered that a woman my husband dated (before we were together) got upset with him for breaking up with her and wrote him letters saying if he didn't pay her money every month for 10 years, that she would expose their sex tapes, letters, ect. to his then girlfriend and the members of his family. Apparenty the tapes are pretty kinky and he agreed and payed her a number of times that I can trace. The last thing I can find is from late 2002. I have all of these letters and they are very threatening. Any advice? He will not admit if he is still paying her.

put in a call to the attorney general for your state, a postal inspector could also probably tell you- they sound like separate crimes 1. blackmail 2. using the US mail to commit a crime

The State of Oregon has nothing to do with this. This is a federal crime, so contact the USPS and speak to one of their postal inspectors. They'll need to see the letters.

Call your local postmaster and have a postal inspector investigate it. They also can tell you everything you want to know about the statue of limitations. Its federal.
