She has alot of toys outside with her and she has my older dog out there with her, they are never left outside for more than 15 mins. I don't trust people, the first time she got out was over the weekend because someone kicked a hole in our fence big enough for her to get out. And now she knows she can get out front with out a leash on and without me. Our neighborhood streets are some what busy. I am so scared that she'll get hit!

Poultry wire is the least expensive remedy, but does require some labor. Get the long roll of 2 foot wire, and run it the length of your fencing, at the base, and creased, so it is half up the fence, and half on the ground at the base of the fence. dogs can't dig through poultry wire, as it hurts their feet. Poultry wire is availbale at any harware, builder's supply, or feed store, and is about $11 per roll of 50 feet.

You can cover the bottom portion with dirt, gravel, or sod, etc..and attach the upper portion to you fence with wire or zip ties, etc.

Or, for about $60 you can get an electric wire or tape kit to run the base of your fence, just about 4 inches from the bottom. This really works, as no digger will trespass the 'hot wire'...You will find the kits for the electric wire or tape at most garden centers, or online (eBay has several)

Take bird twine, chainlink, rabbit twine or another kind of robust twine fencing and fix it to the backside of your fence. Bury the unfastened finish approximately 6-eight inches underneath the bottom. This will have to create an L form. Most puppies do not like the sensation and can give up making an attempt, nonetheless even though she keeps making an attempt she may not get very some distance. I agree that puppies will have to no longer be left external by myself for increased durations nonetheless I appreciate that no longer all people's tradition allows for this. Make certain she has refuge, water and meals. Also take a look at hanging a jolly ball and different toys external so she will be able to play and be entertained. NEVER go away a puppy external tied! There are lots of disorders that may be attributed to "chained" puppies.

The dog sounds bored. You can put fencing or something else under the ground like other people have said but if its because the dog is bored, then she will just pick up another bad habit like Barking or Climbing the fence, etc.

Why is she outside unattended?

Give her a job, a Tired dog is a Happy dog :-)

Get an invisible fence and staple it around the bottom of your fence or if it's chain link weave it through. If you set the signal strength high enough your digger won't be able to get close enough to the fence to dig out and the small static reminder she gets when she tries will soon make her realize it's not worth it .I recommend the ones made by Pet Safe. I don't think they really restrain a dog unless used to reinforce an actual fence though.

is your dog spayed or neutered. if not neutered he might be going after a female in heat. i find most dogs that dig are bored. provide plenty of exercise for your dog. if the dog is well exercised and proper attention given the dog might not be as likely to dig. you can also look into invisible fences. you can bury the line right in front of your fence line and train your dog not to go near the fence line. good luck.

and i know it's not the norm, and an electical wire should do the trick but i have a heeler mix that didn't care. she grabbed ahold of the wire and tore it out and went right on under. she won. she's either inside or outside with me now, lol.

Dig a trench around your fence line and put in either sheets of metal edging (Below the surface) or pressure treated 2x6's, then fill up the trench around it. I've found that the 2x6's work a lot better because they're deeper, but it takes quite a lot of work to dig out the trench (Needs to be about 7" down).

If you have neighbors of the Asian ethnicity, then you can always give them the dog for a light meal. Otherwise, try to keep the dog inside the house or even place a sort of barrier near the fence.

You have a big problem. You can dig a trench around the fence a fill it with cement mix. Then cover the cement ( as soon is dry) with the yard soil.I know,is expensive and hard to do.But is the only way.

U can buy a small electric wire to put around yard ..all u need is a plug in.It is a mild shock not enough to harm just enough to scare. Once your dog touches it , it will remember it and not get cose to it..it seems mean but its better than your dog getting out and getting run over.

You could bury bricks on the inside edge of the fience. You would have to line the whole fience though, Might be costly if you have a big yard.
Wont stop her from digging, but it will make it much harder to get out, She would have to dig a lot deeper and longer to get out. By then you see here and stop her.
