An egg or an egg yolk?
It's 'drawn' from the chicken's body, the yolk 'hangs' inside the egg until the egg white is removed, it sleeps in a cave (the eggshell) until the egg hatches, and the 'hardened gold' could be either the yolk when it's been cooked or the chick that hatches from the egg.
Edit: never mind, I found what the 'official' answer is and it's nothing to do with eggs. Someone else has already mentioned it. But I still think an egg yolk could also work as an answer.
