"Winning the peace" is a crappy misnomer.
To win the war, we must not turn against our own troops, and get the fight out of Washington and into Iraq.

It will be extremely difficult to bring the kind of peace to Iraq that we enjoy here in the U.S. First of all, the neihboring countries of Syria and Iran view a Democratic Iraq as a threat to their way of life. Their afraid that the U.S. may establish a puppet government in Iraq that will be used as a way to prevent their governments from pursuing their own goals for their countries, i.e. nuclear power/weapons. Also, many Iraqis do not entirely trust that the U.S. has their best interests in mind, so that fuels anti-American sentiment and terrorist attacks. The best way to keep peace in Iraq is to first of all build a relationship of trust with Syria and Iran and then to give Iraq the means to be productive at other things than killing each other. (Example of Japan after WWII.) However, building trust with Iran may be imposible with the current leader that they have. He is very militant and stubborn.

bomb the hell out of the troubled spots, then let the Iraq army clean up the mess. If they want peace they will fight for it and will overcome the obstacles. I would not mind supplying air support where there are heavy concentrations of resistance but the war needs to be Iraq's war at this time.

it is very easy.return the proper power to the original Iraqi's(not the imported ones who came out of the stinkiest septic tanks in the world)and they know how to restore law and order.just remmember,Iraqi's have 6000 years of ruling experiences.the 1st govt in the world appeared in iraq,in Sumeria, not in the unknown continent(that was named after an Italian, though he wasn't its discoverer) .remmember that the Iraqi's and their Baghdad ruled all the known civilised world more than a 1000 years ago.

if peace is possible, they must do it on their own. the US cannot baby sit for the next 200 years.
we leave now and let them either butcher each other or make peace. its their country, they decide.

Go back in time and slap bush and the republicans around for thinking it was such a great idea to invade. Other than that we're pretty much screwed.
