My Boyfriend works evening shifts at his job which means he is at work from 4 to midnight, I also have a meeting to go to that night after I get off work. He hinted toward asking it off and then I told him I had a meeting to go to and he was really disappointed. I wish I could get out of the meeting but it's mandatory. I want to do something really special since it's our first one together. I don't care if we go out or if we buy presents, I just want to do something really special for him. But we won't be together until 9 or 10pm. Any suggestions on what I might do. Should I have him ask it off? Should I do something during the day so he can enjoy it while I am at work? HELP!

I have the same problem. This is my boyfriend and I's fourth Valentines Day together and we only have had one that was actually on Valentine's Day. He works this year and so we are going to do something the next night. It will still be as special even though it's not on the same day. I would suggest if you are going to see each other around 9 or 10 that night maybe making a candle light dinner for him. I did that one year for my boyfriend and it was our best Valentine's Day ever. I made him italian food and we watched The Notebook. Good Luck.

Can you get off the next day? I mean have a nice dinner on Valentines day after work, candle light and the whole bit at home then spend the next day just being together. Valentine's day is just what it is, a day..You can make it a everyday thing if you want..Do you understand what I am saying? Besides everything that's Valentine is 50 to 75 percent off the next day..

First 9 or 10 pm is more than enough time to do something nice.

Because you both work there is a lot less pressure to do something big. Pretty much just spending time together counts as big points when you are both busy.

Even something as simple as a making some sandwiches and eating them outside as he gets off of work gets major brownie points if you top it off with "I just wanted to spend Valentine's Day with you."

You could leave a breakfast/brunch treat for him as well as balloons and a promise of a special surprise after 9pm then when you get together have chocolate dipped strawberries an assortment of cheeses and meats and a favorite wine or a champagne well chilled and set up a floor picnic with candles and soft music. He will be surprised and the two of you will have a delicious encounter. Good Luck!

When he gets home, set aside a table for 2 with rose petals and candles on the table with dim lights and music. Have a romantic dinner with him and maybe go to the beach for ice cream after.

Tie some balloons on the antenna of his automobile mutually as he's at artwork. bypass away a card under the windshield wiper (climate allowing). in case you have a spare key (if not, attempt like hell to get one), positioned a present day bag with a sexy nightie in it and a couple of silk boxers for him, a pair candles, and a bottle of wine.

You could leave him a box of treasures as hints of whats to come when he gets off work...and then enjoy your night together.

He can't request off? and don't forget there is something call 'Call in sick' haha use it , it's very effective. But first, try to request off first, still have like a month until valentine's day, plenty of time to give his boss a notice.

I think you should have a cozy evening at home with rose petals and candle light.
