Sure, I like a leader who stands by his commitments and isn't swayed by every poll as well but I think a little common sense in this case needs to prevail.
Being a stubborn jackass just for the sake of being dumb and stubborn is not an admirable leadership quality. It just shows how ignorant he is and that he'll ignore the truth if it gets in the way.
Hey look at me I'm approaching a railroad crossing and the lights are blinking and I can hear the train coming... well the hell with slowing down I'm just going to keep driving into the train because I must stay te course! ROFLMAO!!
Yeah that's a real smart guy right there. Let's follow him.

TX Girl, it's time to act like a lady...you can get off your knees now.
Wow, someone actually compared Bush the crack head to Abe Lincoln. The problem with that analogy is Lincoln listened to his generals.

This is a perfect case of his supporters taking a negative and somehow making it a positive attribute. Sort of like having pride in an uncle who can out drink anyone within earshot.
Bush is stubborn, ignorant, and perhaps the bravest president with others lives we have ever had. Sadly, he still has support from his "base" who are just as stubborn and short-sighted. Couple this with his need to talk tough and be a cowboy , again with other people's lives makes for a scary combo that should have all Americans frightened. I do have a question though do you think he is going to show just how tough his soldiers are by taking on Iran and Syria while he sits down on his ranch clearing brush?

I'm assuming this is probably in reference to the occupation of Iraq, so I'll go from there.
People that agree with keeping our troops in Iraq because if we don't, everything will collapse there and make bad things happen are those who agree with the president because he 'stays the course.'
People that disagree with keeping troops there are the ones who say that he's being a stubborn idiot and not listening to 'the public.'
It depends on what you want the leader to do.

They thought Abe Lincoln was stubborn too. Approval polls had Abe at 30% and thought he should've just let the South secede.
Glad Abe was "stubborn".
Aren't you?
EDIT: Abe also fired his General's when they weren't getting results.

political fortitude i dont think so .i would say he is a jackass and a stubborn imbecile .he is sending more troops after 3000+have been massacered, havent fammillies here suffered enough grief ?how many more will have to stand and watch as their kids ,uncles fathers, moms, sons daughters etc...come home in a wodden box and a flag at their door...its enough.this surely isnt political fortitude its madness and boredeline a criminal act of negligence
look people this man will stop at nothing to get what he wants in iraq which is to keep this war goin, miraculously stop it and ask iraq to turn over their oil as a form of thanks for the help he supplied them with its pretty much a form of modern day extortion.he wants the oil, america depends too much on foreign oil,he owned oil companies before being president so he knows that really well.bush isnt a normal president he is a money minded bussiness first type of prez...money at all cost, the economy is faillling terribly since he took office so he has to find a way to make money to revamp it,well wars make money.
at the end of the war he applies his tactis on the poor people of iraq whose only rich source of income as a country is the oil they own and he wants to take it from the at all cost in this case make up a civil war between two groups that yes despise each other but never had their animosity escalated this much in many years, now thanks to referee bush well it has become a civil war
people...tax paying people, hardworking tax paying people, your money is being spent on this dumb war...so far in the 4yrs of war the cost of it to tax payers is 500billion dollars(fact people from my local newspaper, dont have the link to the story)
how much more will it take ?how much money at the end of this war would be spent?more than a trillion you can bet on that
isnt the deficit high enough, cant this trillion go into lowering it?or into domestic issues like education, cancer research, aids, jobs and anything else you can think of that this country internally desperately needs.povrety?hunger?homelessness?crime prevention,,,,the list is endless
your money is going into a sensless war and he hopes i say hopes to make it worth your while whenever he get to the oil...at what cost?ohhh 21,500 troops more deaths, more heartache for relatives here more violence there more deficit more loss of soldiers more worlwide hate ,closer possibility of nuclear war and human race as we know it
i say its more than enough its time and past time to stop this madness.call your congress men/woman call senators do something of your own to help stop this madness protect your money, save your kids/soldiers
god bless you all and keep us alive until this lunatic is out of office
he is a dictator just not a murderous one yet but he qualifies as one .
