BE CAREFUL, AS A 31 YEAR OLD MOM OF A 16 YEAR OLD MYSELF, I WORRY ABOUT THE VERY SAME THING, THAT YOU MAY THINK IS PERFECTLY SAFE, WHEN IT IS NOT. AND IF YOU EVER DO MET SOMEONE IN PERSON , ALWAYS TAKE A FRIEND OR 2 WITH YOU. AND MAKE SURE SOMEONE AT HOME KNOWS WHERE AND WHEN AND WHAT TIME YOU PLAN ON MEETING AND COMING BACK. No, you can never say there is a truly safe place for young teens to meet on the internet. Too many sick perverts out there that lie, scheme, and pretend to make up a fictitious person to get to youngsters. It's best to just meet people at your school or through friends. MY SPACE IS THE WORST PLACE FOR YOUNGSTER TO GO! READ THE NEWSPAPERS AND SEE HOW MANY KIDS GET KIDNAPPED, RAPPED, OR KILLED, BY SICK PERVERTS FROM MY SPACE! Be carefull!

NO - 16 is too young to be using dating sites. You never know who you're talking to. It's just not safe. Try meeting someone at school, church, or other teen hang outs.

No, because there is so many sick people out there in the world. And they take advantage of uderage kids like you. So the best way for you to meet People your age is to go to school function or to teen parties. GOOD LUCK..

probably not online...although myspace is not as bad as they make it seem but I would recommend you try joining extracurricular activities at your school as a way to meet people :)
