The Atkins diet (cutting out carbs, eating a lot of protein) will help you lose weight very quickly, but you must stick to it. Your body burns body fat for energy instead of burning the carbs you eat. Since you stop eating carbs, you burn fat quickly. But beware, if you cheat and eat a big piece of cake or something rich in carbs, you will be starting back at square one, and may even gain a couple pounds as a result. The key to weight loss with Atkins is consistency.

Things to eat on Atkins diet:
Tuna with mayonnaise (no bread)
Lettuce, celery, raspberries
Low-carb yogurt (they sell many low carb items other than yogurt, like low-carb ice cream)
Cheese (you can eat unlimited amounts)
Eggs (you can eat unlimited amounts)
Beef jerky
Water/Unsweetened Tea/Diet Pop

Things not to eat:
Breads, pastas
Sweets (candy, cookies)
Regular sodas
Juices
Basically anything with a substantial amount of carbs in it

A diet that works is one that combines a reduced calorie/fat diet with a reasonable exercise regimen. If you want to lose weight - you will need to exercise. I can't understand how if you really wanted to lose the weight that bad, you wouldn't be willing to work for it a bit. (personally, I'd rather work out and occassionally be able to eat foods that taste and make me feel good). Try walking atleast for 30 minutes, a few times a week.

But - to lose weight - you need to cut out the junk food, processed food, and high sodium foods. Increase you water intake - many people think you need 8 glasses of water a day, but actually, that is the minimum. You should divide your weight in half and that is amount of ounces you should be drinking. ie, 180 pounds = 90 ounces, or roughly 12 glasses of water. Drinking lots of water will help you drop water weight.

Stick to lean meats, veggies, fruit and whole grains. If you do a fad diet - you'll gain it back right away and possibly screw up your metabolism.

not really...the only way to keep the weight off is to exercise regularly...but if you must diet, I skip breakfast, have a super light lunch (think salad) and some veggies for dinner....very bad for you and I guarantee the weight will come back, but if you have enough self control this will help you lose some weight in a matter of weeks, try curbing your appetite by drinking lots of fluids (unsweet tea and water, NOT SODA OR ANYTHING WITH SUGAR!!!) good luck

yeah just stop eating and when you feel like your tired or tummy hurts eat like 5 pretzels and drink a soda, but drink water all day long just dont eat. I lost 50 pds in a matter of 6 months.
