I have to shampoo my hair almost everyday because of it, but then it looks dry and lifeless. Anybody have any good ideas?
(or can it be solved by changing something like, my diet?)

Apply baby powder to the scalp to absord the grease and you should be able to get away with washing it every second day. Apply lots to the roots only and make sure to rub it in really well so you don't have a white head. You head will smell of baby powder afterwards so you may want to spritz it with some fragrance after the powder.

Try washing every second day only. I know that's hard when you've greasy hair but its a vicious circle. The more you wash to take off the grease, then the quicker your body starts to make the grease to replace what you washed of...kinda like acne.
When you do wash it, use a gentle clarifying shampoo. That should do the trick.

I have the same problem. Try using a mild shampoo everyday and use a stronger one every few days to clean up the scalp properly. When you use conditioner (and I can't do without it), don't rub it into the scalp, just put it on the ends of the hair. I know its difficult, but try to avoid washing hair everyday. I sometimes leave it for a day, although its difficult, it really gives your scalp a rest. I usually put it up during that day of non washing. Or do it on a sunday or a day when you are just lounging around. This usually helps make hair less oily in the long run.

When I was a teen, there was a dry product that you sprayed on your hair, let sit a minute and then brushed out. It worked but left your hair rather dull. I don't know if it's still available but if you type "dry hair shampoo" into your search engine you might come up with something like it.
I also used to just wash my bangs. You'd be surprised at how much that helps.

Don't wash your hair EVERYDAY unless if you excersize or something and it gets sweaty or any other reason like that because it strips your hair from it's natural oils. I would suggest not putting any conditioner in it. If you don't already, then try mixing tomato juice in with your shampoo. That might rid the greasiness.

best way to solve greasy hair is to get it highlighted or put a colour into it..this will stop it from being so greasy......if u got virgin hair (your own natural colour) and u dont want to change the colour of it u can go to a hairdressers and get a clear colour put into it ( dont know if they sell it in the shops) this will also make it look healthy and shiny.....also if u use hair products try not to put it onto your roots..just mid leanth n ends..hope this solves your problem x

yes over brushing and messing with your hair will stimulate your glands and make your hair greasy,,try a shampoo for greasy fine or limp hair and if using conditioner just put it on the ends of your hair....once conditioner is rinsed out give your hair one last rinse with a very cool Rance this will close your sweat glands and calm down the production of natural oils.......good luck
