the guy i like and he likes me told me hes not ready for a relationship yet due to stresses in his life right now but he would like to be with me in the future and just wants to be friends. Is this his way of telling me nicely that he doesn't want to be with me at all but wants me to stay in contact so he has someone to hang out with, or does he really mean it. I would be his first real physical girlfriend if he did go out with me. His only other girlfriend was an internet girl.

He's trying to tell you that he likes you but not enough to date.
Soooooooo I would go out, have fun, forget him. There are plenty more fish in the sea and you should not wait for anyone. Obviously he doesn't have a deep burning desire to be with you so that would tell me something. Go out and have a fun time and you'll meet the right one when it's time. Good Luck.

I say that he is keeping you on the back burner. If that is where you want to be than wait but if not move on....still be his friend and hang out but look for a guy that wants to be with you now.

I think he is putting you on the back burner so he knows you will he always be waiting there for him. I wouldn't count on him for a boyfriend He might have a different girlfriend he is not telling you about
