Registered Nurse here; Okay an occasional night of restless or lost sleep can be expected. Almost everyone experiences insomnia at one time or another. Having said this, you made a profound statement, "You feel your somewhat delusional." Okay this is a Red Flag, now is the time without delay to seek medical attention with your family practitioner, nearby health clinic, or the nearest emergency room. One actually can began to experience psychosis with 24 to 48 hours of sleep missed. Please you need some professional help with your sleeping cycle, when a patient finds themselves delusional, it's past the point of trying home remedies for sleep, you need medical assistance. Most likely only briefly but you should seek this help immediately. Thanks for the opportunity to address this interesting question.

stress and sleep deprivation can cause lots of problems, including feeling tired all the time.. sounds like your mind just wont slow down. avoid cafeine and sugar, and salt.. drink lots of water through the day and eat healthy foods in moderate amounts. exercise early in the evening, even if its just taking a walk. try warm milk at night . avoid eating about an hour before going to bed. try reading or watching a boring movie. any activity that will help you relax. dont go to bed until you are sleepy enough to stay there. there are also natural, herbal supplements you can take to help you . take calcium before going to bed. it will help relax the muscles. it may take a few nights to train your body to relax but it might help you get a little more rest. if you still have problems consider seeing your doctor for a physical exam. there might be a medical reason too

I would suggest working out on a regular basis. Anything as long as your pretty well exhausted afterward. It will be difficult at first but you will be amazed at how it will regulate your schedule. Workout @ the same time every time if pos. You will be more awake throughout the day and sleep better at night. It will work!!

there is a fatigue syndrome that is similar. But there are many diseases and illnesses that will cause this behavior. Maybe even new medication you are on. But if that is the case you had better see a doctor, that could be something very serious and probably need bloodwork to determine exactly what it may be.
