I opened my word document that i have been working on, but it now won't let me edit it at all because it says the document has been locked and somehow all of my documents are locked even though i haven't done anything that i remember to have locked them.

If you are using office XP or 2003, you can change the view to HTML-Code using Microsoft Script-Editor by pressing the [Alt]+[Shift]+[F11] key combination.

Search for "Password" and you will find something like this:
ReadOnly
19E8E61E

To remove the protection:
-Just remove those two lines, and after saving the document , the protection is gone.

To remove the password:
-replace the Password, here "19E8E61E", with "00000000", save the Document and close "Script-Editor".

Alternative you can save your document as .html and use a html-Editor.

Does anyone else use this computer? Someone would have had to have locked them. You can go to the Tools tab and if they are locked, there should be an option to "Unprotect Document". Then you will need to figure out what the password is though.

have you tried to rename them and re save them as something else, because they may have been set as read only files, so they cannot be changed! if it is not that, i have no idea!
