I have a rx from my doctor. if i dont take it my hands start to shake
what the hell am supost to do 2mg to 4mg a day past 3 and half years
I have severe GAD and SSRI'S dont know work for me

Well, many doctors say that Ativan is just as good with less likelihood of addiction. I really don't know your doctor. You might try cutting back by ,25-.5 a day for a week and by .25 a day more each week and try the Ativan. I don't think it would be fair for your doc to cut you off completely and turn his back on you. It would be better to wean and switch. Good luck and even at 4 mg a day, many people are on that dose divided throughout their day. You can do this especially since some days you take 2 mg. may your year go well and you reach your goal.

Well If i were you I would go right away to your doc and explain the situation to him it sounds serious if anyone can tell you an alternative it would be your doctor and if he has no ideas then go see a new doctor. I cant imagine how hard it is on you. I used to take them i got hooked also and i remember that feeling you feel when you dont take them its one of the worst feelings I ever felt off course my situation is different I am 22 but i took a lot of it in my life but through choice because of the relaxed feeling they give when on it but when you come off its horrible so please just go see a doctor because all of us can give you advice but in reality we are not MD's good luck and feel better

Tell your doctor about this problem. He can prescribe something less addictive. Otherwise it will only continue to get worse and you'll need more than prescribed. Get help before it's too late.
