how do i ask a girl i like out?

so my math tutor at my college is super attractive. the only thing is is that i havent really talked to her before and there is this other guy in the class saying that he is goin to get her number and take her out before the semester is over. he also says that she is his girl but they dont ever talk i think he is just saying that. will she go for a guy that acts like a prick or a normal funny guy. also how shouldi go about asking her out to do smething. thanks for the answers

(1) say hi
(2) start talking to her -- ask a question or ask her how things are going
(3) if you can keep a conversation going, look for something you both like talking about -- especially if its something you both like to do
(4) casually say that it could be a lot of fun doing it together... if she also says she thinks so -- You just got your perfect opportunity!
(5) Get her msn, e-mail, phone (btw -- in ranking order: the first is the easiest to get, the last is the hardest).

Don't worry about what type of guy. BE YOURSELF... its better to find someone who's the right match for you then trying to be what someone else wants (if she's not into the type of person you are, then just find someone who does). The more casual and friend-like it is, the less of the potential burn and more likely to get a possitive response. If you guys couldn't potentially be friends, then why hope for something much closer? If you like spending time together and there's chemistry on both parts -- trust me, interest will develop as hormones will kick in do the rest.
