This is an answer i hear quite often, but one which i find invalid. I am a christian myself. for example, a friend of a friend said there cannot be aliens because they are not in the bible. I have also heard the same for dinosaurs and other such things. well, just because it does not mention something in the bible, does that always have to mean that it does not exist? there may be no mention of it's existance, but is there any mention to it's non-existance? i am not just talking about aliens and dinosaurs, but all things to which this excuse is given.

Okay, and try and keep in mind that I am not asking for blibical evidence for the existance or non-existance of aliens or dinosaurs. I am asking why people use this 'theory' to explain why something (such as alians or dinosaurs) do not, or cannot exist.

I think the best way to understand things is to make sure you have read the bible front to back... there are a gazillion animals that arent mentioned in the bible, but we know they exist. I have also heard people who are Christians say they don't believe in demons, but THEY are in the bible....
The leviathan is a good example. some translations say it is a crocodile? others say dinosaur.... to me, everything about it makes more sense that it is a dragon... but all we get is the word leviathan.
we gotta really be careful what we make an issue tho. what really is important in the questions we ask? I think the important thing is to accept that the things in the bible are real and true.... and the things out of the bible, well, seek your own information on it. do research... it may or may not be real... but saying 'it isnt in the bible so it isnt true' is a little lame of an answer.
I'm not sure if this helped at all... but we/Christians are all seeking to know Christ more... and can only know Him more if we are reading the Word and choosing to be like Him.

Very good point.
The Bible was not written in English. What we read in English today are translations from other languages. The "New Testament" was written in Greek.
Hence, the name "Jesus" is found nowhere in the Scriptures—it is a translation of the Greek name "Iesous" (pronounced "[ee]yeh-sooce"). "Iesous" came over into the Latin "Jesu" (pronounced "yehsoo") and finally into English as "Jesus." So in the most technical sense, saying "Jesus" is saying a twice-removed translation of the name we find in the "New Testament" Scriptures
Therefore according to the Bible Jesus didn't exist either.
The Bible is meant as a guide on HOW to live your life and to give comfort in the way that the stories are written.
I am not Christian or any of the other major faiths. I don't believe a word in the Bible is truth.
That is my personal opinion.
If I remember correctly didn't The Big Guy first create the void so that the world had a place to be?
Did he not create the Firmament and the Fundament?
In that case theres no problem. ANYONE who uses religion to say that aliens cannot exist is therefore second guessing their own God,
If God created everything (not just what is mentioned in the Bible but EVERYTHING), it then follows that God may have made the Aliens AS WELL.
Just because we haven't met them doesn't mean they aren't there.
I haven't met God, does he exist? Some say yes, some say no.
Dinosaurs existed, we have physical proof. If they existed then God created them.
"6 Days" to create everything. As there was only God there at the time, who is to say that 1 day wasn't a Billion years long?
Use Your belief and faith and decide for yourself. THAT'S WHY GOD GAVE YOU A BRAIN!

First off, Dino's were around long before recorded man. They didn't exist 5000 years ago. But today we have bones to prove they were here. The bible is story a history, not a day to day occurance of the human race. The bible also does not remind those small minded people God's day in Genesis may have been a million years. We as humans developed time. Why would the bible mention any of these things in the first place? Did they play any role in what was happening at the time?

Zips are neither mentioned in the Bible nor did any of the peoples of Bible times wear them. That's why groups like the Amish today don't use them. It's buttons all the way for them! But even though their application of Bible truth is ridiculous at points such as that, they show us more than a thing or two where it matters - like being forgiving, and not polluting the earth, and being honest. Wouldn't it be nice if we could all concentrate on living as God would have us live, and let those who like to keep their blinkers on see kindness in us instead of ridicule?

That's just silly. The Bible is a book of spiritual understanding. It's not a science text or a comparative social studies book. To expect it to have answers to non spiritual questions is unreasonable. That being said, Angels and aliens could well be one and the same. Same for Leviathan, Behemoth, and dinosaurs.

Firstly, the Bible was written by man. But, it was written by men who were directly connected to God. Second, anything that is not mentioned in the Bible is not important enough for us to know. In other words, what is written in there is a guide for us to be able to do God's will here on Earth so that in the end we will be able to finally join and live for eternity with God in His Kingdom.

Last, people who take absolutely everything that "scientists" say as complete fact nedd to take a step back and look at the big picture. How in the world could we have come from monkeys? if we did evolve from monkeys, why didn't ALL monkeys evolve? Seriously. Even if I wasn't a Christian, I don't see how alot of the things that "scientists" say happened could possible have actually happened...they just aren't logical.
Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I know, from personal experience, that I went from being the biggest atheist and the saddest little human to being a Christian and not always having the best days but knowing that I ALWAYS have someone there for me who will help me through ANYTHING that this poo-ha-filled world could possibly throw in my direction.
May God Bless everyone and may he be the cornerstone for everyone...even those who do not believe in his existance. Remember, God loves everyone of us, his special children, very much and His gift to the world, the Bible is His guidebook to help us get through life.

Dinosaurs prove the earth was not made to cater humans. It's a good thing you mention that. I wish people would stop using gaps in scientific theory to explain the bible which doesn't make sense. I guess we're even.
"Beasts" = "dinosaurs" is the bible always that specific. I guess that's the fun in metaphors.

There are some people who believe that dinosaurs are in the Bible. The Bible mentions an animal called a Leviathon not sure if I have spelt that correctly but it gives a clear description and its not like anything I have heard of. If you google the name Ken Ham an Austrralian guy he will almost certainly answer your question.
